It’s really odd that sometimes when I tell people that work has been hectic, but fun, they give me a wtf look. I just love getting bogged down in the kind of work I do. Really. Well, as long as I’m healthy of course. Been known to push myself past the limit and fall sick sometimes and that is not fun. But as long as I’m in good condition to work, I don’t staying up late hacking into lines of codes, testing, mocking up stuff. It’s just fun. The thing is, I don’t like to stagnate. Not just in terms of work, but in general too. Lucky for me, I heard that this is a Good Thing.

Me and my colleagues have been through a rough week getting prepared for a presentation which just ended on Friday. I’ve been add it for much longer though, maybe about half a week more which meant I’ve been getting very little sleep for over a week. I fell sick a few days into the week (but it wasn’t due to the workload, wasn’t feeling too good even before all the crazyness started) but recovered towards the end. On Friday I finally got to nap. Boy it was good.

An SMS from my current boss stated that the client was happy with the presentation and generally we did well. The potential for getting shortlisted shot up. Usually when my phone wakes me up, I’ll be… irritated, but this time I was smiling away. Working hard does pay off I guess. The promise of a good outcome out of the strennous exercise and the very likely chance of getting learn a lot of cool new stuff along the way is what keeps me yearning for more work. Keep em’ coming.

Contrasting this with the relatively easy work I had before, it’s now clearer to me why I left.
