I stand corrected then. Wasn't aware they'd come with some GSM/CDMA radio. I know about being fitted with a GPS though. Which reminds me... gotta hunt down a cheap Garmin nuvi soon. Hate it when I have to drive to some place I don't know.

Mobile Internet Device is between PDA phone and Nettop (eeePC, HP mini-notebook and the MSI Wind). It has phone function, GPS and full online feature. :D

Jayce, you really can't compare the two. MID stands for 'Mobile Internet Device' right? It'll probably have a large screen and is designed primarily for surfing the web and runs a more featured OS. It also will probably stay in the house most of the time. I think it's more similar to the Nokia N8xx series of devices that the HTC Touch Diamond.

But I agree with you on one thing that these MIDs are much more compelling purchases than these WM half-baked nonsense devices. I actually got pretty closes to getting the Nokia N800 a while back but decided against it. Nowadays I'm attracted to the ultra-portable sub-notebooks like the eeePC, HP mini-notebook and the MSI Wind.
