Goodbye Axon
Yesterday was my last day in Axon. The gang threw a small dinner party since it also happened to be Ryan’s birthday. Had a blast. During the short time there I’ve gained quite a number of new friends. That also means it won’t be a big deal with me leaving since I’ll probably keep in touch with the gang. Good luck in work guys! Was wondering what made you decide to leave Axon?
That’s a question I keep asking myself as well. As much as I would like to give a definitive and smart answer, I don’t have one. I felt something was wrong and I wouldn’t probably like being there. I guess there’s no one-company-suites-all for each and everyone of us and Axon was just probably not for me.
Oh okay. So you’ve already gotten a new job? Focusing on JAVA? Any plans?
Btw, the main reason I’m curious as to why you left Axon is coz’ I just joined Axon early May and will be attending the ABAP bootcamp next month. So was rather surprised when I saw the “Goodbye Axon” post.
But hey, I agree with you that being in the right company is very important as we spend most of our lives working anyway. For me, being based in Axon Penang, so far I’m quite happy with the working environment and colleagues as well as the opportunities SAP has to offer to an individual.
Yes, definitely going the Java route. SAP is OK if you’re not a techie. It’s basically a dead-end job for technical guys. It’s a different case if you’re doing functional work (a guess). But, let’s not spoil your experience.
I left because working there does not align well with my future. That’s all. Environment there is pretty cool. But beware of anything you sign with them, Axon is pretty strict in enforcing policies (which is biased very much for the benefit of the company). And they love to use the phrase “it’s company policy”. Get my drift?
