Looks like Maxis has finally wised up by removing the minimum contractual period of 18 months previously imposed on subscribers. Both Celcom and DiGi does not have any minimum contractual period but instead tries to attract people to stay by tying in with other products such as mini laptops and smart phones. I guess it really is a no brainer that this will be scrapped - who in their right mind would subscribe to something for 18 months?! All is not rosy though as it seems defaulters will still need to pay RM200.
My advise - skip Maxis broadband. There really is no reason to with it with this sort of ridiculous terms. Want 3G? There’s Celcom. Wait till DiGi joins the 3G race to see some really interesting stuff.
