That’s right, I’m running Ubuntu on my laptop. Every damn thing works!
- WLAN drivers - check
- Logon to WPA network - check
- Sound drivers - check
- Installing proprietary stuff (Flash, MP3 codecs, etc.) - check
- Battery indicator - check
- Power management - check
- Sweet looking desktop (think transparencies, window animations, etc.) - check
My my my, Linux has come a long way. In fact, what’s even cooler is that I did not even need to partition my laptop. Everything was installed in Windows XP to a hard drive image. I’m not yet able to browse or see my NTFS partition so this means file sharing is a no-no for now. That sucks since I’ve got 14GB of MP3s stashed on the NTFS partition. So if you wanna dual-boot, be wary of this. I’m sure there’s a way to enable file sharing some how.

Can do cuz, still freaking trying to learn to commands, menus and sub menu of the damn thing…aaaarrrg! That just me, too blardie lazy to read operation manuals…as if I have not enuff of it in my line of work….!!
forgot to also mention that Julius and myself have about 200 gbs worth of movies and serials ( english ) if you are interested…( that includes japanese AVs as well…kekekeke )
200GBs is more than all the HD space I have combined. Wait till I get myself a 500GB drive
Cannot escape from reading manuals la. Growing pains first, then you can go out to snap.
