After a few days, it seems that I’m beginning to appreciate the Centro’s simplicity & speed more than ever. Take for example, launching an app. It takes less than a second for any application to launch, with the exception of Blazer which takes maybe about 3 seconds, and be ready for use. Once launched, they are blazing fast. I no longer wait for a menu to render or a dialog box to pop up. I can enter data with such amazing speed I wonder why I stuck with the Ipaq 6965 for so long. OK, probably due to the GPS but that’s about it, I swear.
And the camera is finally useful again. It launches in about a second or two & snaps pics with almost no lag. Quality is just usable for displaying on the phone, but I’m fine with that. I don’t plan to use the Centro for anything but candid snapshots. I’ve got my Nikon D40 to do the more serious stuff.
I’ve loaded the following applications into the Centro:
- DateBk5 (happy with it, so won’t upgrade to 6)
- DocsToGo 10 (it’s available as a free download for Centro users)
- NoahPro 3 (freeware now)
- MetrO
- Some games (MyLittleTank, SkyForce, Astraware Solitaire and Sudoku)
- Palmary Clock
- Lefty
- Files (free SD card manager from Palm)
- SplashID
- SplashMoney
- Resco Backup
I’m loving it so far. Highly recommended phone this is.
