The past year had been tough. I can say with certainty (regrettably) that almost all of the projects I’ve been in were delayed. To make matters worse, I was the lead at the time for those projects. So I’m partly responsible for the delays, though definitely not the sole reason. Now having been through the rough times, I’ve reflected much on what has been done and tried to figure out ways to avoid them in the future (though in my new job, I would not be at a team lead position anymore). Sad to say, though I’ve identified problems (or rather, thought I did), I didn’t have so much luck with the solutions.
I can’t say this article nailed everything, but it comes pretty close. It outlines mistakes that will cause a project to derail (I’m speaking from experience here, so trust me ;)). It’ll just take 10 minutes to go trough, so go ahead and click on the link.
