How to prep laptops for air travel

With the recent developments over a mass-bombing plot over at Britain, it’s unavoidable that security has been tighten up a lot. For us in the IT world, it probably means that gadgets, cell-phones and laptops are most probably not allowed anymore on the plane as electronic devices might serve as a trigger for explosive devices. If there is a need to travel with a laptop, you’ll have to check-in the thing (gasp!). Suffering boredom on flights is bad enough, but the worst case scenario would be losing a laptop or ending up with a damaged one during transit. Need help focusing on work?

Here are 18 Ways to Stay Focused at Work. Simple and straightforward. One thing I’ve noticed though, a lot of these “how to”s really focus on IT oriented jobs, I mean it’s all about email, IM, listening to music (which assumes you’ll be sitting in front of a computer) and use shortcuts for frequently used programs. Is it because IT people tend to have problem focusing? Or is it because most jobs nowadays involve computers?
